2001-02, 03, 04 & 05

Scheme name: Northern Ireland Driver Improvement.
Designed for: Drivers that have been involved in a road traffic collision.
Overview: Driver Improvement Schemes were first introduced in the late 1990s as a direct result of a review of the Road Traffic Act called the ‘North Report’. This concluded that driver education should be potentially offered as an alternative to prosecuting drivers for careless driving offences and/or imposing fines and penalty points.
Duration: 1½ days.
Content: The Course consists of an initial half-day presentation and discussion on all aspects of driving in a relaxed and informal atmosphere followed by two half-day ‘on road’ training sessions. Vehicles will be provided.
Training venues: Antrim ~ Antrim Civic Centre, 50 Stiles Way, Antrim, BT41 2UB.
