BEFORE YOU START

I’ve heard about DriveTech Advantage, is there some more information that you can send me?

I’ve never heard of DriveTech until now and I’m worried that you are not recognised for learner driver instruction.

It is not surprising that you haven’t heard of DriveTech up until now, as we deliberately have not been a school for new drivers or involved with learner drivers until there was a real opportunity to change the new driver curriculum.  Now, because of our long experience in corporate driver training and driver improvement schemes we can add enhanced driving elements which our competitors would struggle to match.

Do you have an Advantage trainer in my area?

THE MONEY BIT

How much does it cost to learn with an Advantage trainer?

DriveTech Advantage is available through a number packages to suit your needs and where you are in the learner driver process.  If you're not sure which one is best for you, why not take Advantage of our 3-hour Taster package at just £17.33 per hour. 

How can I pay for the Advantage programme?

You must have a good idea of how long it takes to get a candidate through the practical training - how much money should I be prepared to spend?

If you're starting from scratch, according to the Driving Standards Agency the average cost of hourly driving lessons in the UK is currently between £1050 and £1500.  Given that our trainers are at a level way above the average driving instructor we’re confident of getting most students though their training at a lower cost than this, depending on how fast you learn. 

ONCE YOU’VE STARTED TRAINING

What happens if I sign up for Advantage but find that it’s not working out with the trainer you put me with?

We understand.  Everyone is different and sometimes the 'chemistry' just isn’t right.  In the rare case that this might happen, we’ll do our best to find another trainer in your area, but this does depend upon availability and how busy we are. If you do have concerns, talk to us as soon as you can so that we can help.

I am worried that there will be too much pressure on me to sit my driving test before I'm ready to do so.

We want you to complete any of the Advantage courses at a pace that is suitable for you and we won’t put any pressure on a student to progress before he or she is ready to do so. After all, we want our reputation to be linked to a good training experience as well as a good Advantage pass rate.

I have already started learning to drive with another driving school. Can I switch and will I be given any credit for what I have done to date?

Of course we’d be happy to welcome you if you choose to move from another driving school and there are a number of packages available to help you.  We can’t give financial or study credits for the learning you’ve done far and we will need to make sure that every student learns to our standards and shares our trainers’ experience.

What’s happens at the end-of course event?

That would be telling wouldn’t it! But you can trust DriveTech that if you’ve completed the Full Advantage programme you’ll be invited to a full day of driving activities, some that you’ll do yourself, some where you’ll sit alongside professionals …..and some that your parent, guardian or buddy will do, just to prove that you’re a match for an experienced driver, right from the start.
