DriveTech selected as finalist for Thames Valley Business of the Year award30 October 2006It was announced today that DriveTech (UK) plc has been selected as a finalist for the Thames Valley Business of the Year award. The winner of the award will be announced on Thursday 23rd November 2006 at Wentworth by the Shadow Chancellor, George Osborne MP. The Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards, now in their 12th year, are acknowledged as the premier multi-category awards scheme in the region. The awards recognise the “best of business” in the Thames Valley over the past year and previous winners and finalists have rightly been acclaimed as the area’s top achievers. The Business of the Year award is open to every company in the area and recognises not only profitability, innovation and employment but also the contribution made to the local economic community and the provision of support to culture and charities in the region. Previous winners of this award include The Game Group plc, O2, Connells, Sun Microsystems, Integralis, Keltec, and Logical Networks plc. The award is sponsored by Pitmans, one of the Thames Valley’s leading commercial law practices, offering a comprehensive legal service to local, national and international businesses. Chris Howell, founder and chairman of DriveTech (UK) said " We're absolutely delighted to be selected as a finalist for the Thames Valley Business of the Year award. It is a fantastic achievement to be recognised as contributing both to the economic success of the region but also to the wellbeing of the local community through the provision of innovative road safety programmes. To be selected as a finalist, for such a prestigious award, is a credit to the commitment and effort of all our staff." EDITOR’S NOTES DriveTech (UK)’s goal is to reduce both an organisation’s vehicle business costs and the personal risk for ‘at work’ drivers, by significantly improving driver ABC - attitude, behaviour and competence - therefore supporting driver safety and corporate ‘duty of care’ requirements. DriveTech (UK) has won the Institute of Transport Management’s ‘Fleet Award for Driver Training’ in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004 and its ‘European Driver Safety Specialist’ award in 2005. |
