Acknowledged learner driver expert joins DriveTech1 July 2008In a bold move, the UK’s leading driving education specialist, DriveTech (UK) plc, has secured the services of the Fleet & Strategic Projects Manager at the AA Driving School, Steve Fothergill. Steve, who joins DriveTech today, has spent some 34 years with the AA, the past 18 directly involved in the Driving School itself, and was instrumental in the creation of what has become one of the best known motoring-related brands seen on British roads. At DriveTech he hopes to do the same, as the Berkshire-based company enters the retail market for the first time with its innovative DriveTech Advantage learner driver brand. Steve will be heading up the new Advantage division of DriveTech, one which hopes to set the agenda for the novice driver training of the future. “People who change jobs often refer to the challenge that is ahead of them in their new role but it is never more true than in my case” says Steve. “Although I am very familiar with all aspects of the learner driver world, DriveTech really is going to turn the industry on its head. Watch this space!” Chris Howell, DriveTech’s chairman said:”I’m proud that DriveTech has the conviction, resources and expertise to create what could be the blueprint for the learner driver curriculum of the future. I can think of no better person to guide us through this exciting new phase of our development than Steve Fothergill.” Steve Fothergill lives in Newbury, Berkshire.
