Camden Vauxhall provides vehicles for innovative learner driver scheme8 September 2008An innovative new learner driver scheme is working in partnership with the Camden Retail Vauxhall dealership in Aylesbury for the supply of vehicles. DriveTech has put together a course which is believed will become a blueprint for the learner driver course of the future. One of the first franchisees for the revolutionary DriveTech Advantage system is making use of high specification Vauxhall Corsa SXi vehicles which are being supplied by Camden Vauxhall. Unusually for learner driver cars, the Corsas are being supplied with a VXR body kit and alloy wheels. “Our courses are designed to address the inadequacies of the existing curriculum and prepare young drivers for the reality of driving”, confirmed Chris Howell, chairman of DriveTech. “Too many teenagers are killing themselves and other road users through inexperience.” He continued, “We have chosen Camden Vauxhall to supply the vehicles for our franchisees because it provides a fast, high quality service both before and after sale. The Aylesbury dealership helped us through the selection process to make sure we have the right vehicle to meet all of our needs.” Instructors will deliver courses which DriveTech believes go way beyond what is possible through conventional hourly paid driving lessons. Using DriveTech’s 20 years experience to address the possible shortcomings of the current driving test curriculum, DriveTech Advantage will better equip new drivers with the experience they need to drive more safely. Camden Vauxhall is providing DriveTech with an initial order of 20 Vauxhall Corsa SXis and expects to be providing around 12 vehicles per month once the scheme is fully operational. “We are delighted to be able to support this innovative scheme in such a practical and involved way,” said Simon Rutherford, Managing Director, Camden Group Services. “Capitalising on our very strong relationship with Vauxhall, we have been able to ensure that DriveTech has access to exactly the right sort of vehicles for its very specific needs. “We feel that the cars we supply will appeal greatly to the young people taking the course, and hope they enjoy and learn from their first driving experiences as much as possible.” About DriveTech Advantage Those interested in learning with DriveTech Advantage in the Aylesbury/northern Thames Valley area should email advantage@drivetech.co.uk or call 0800 840 5105.
