Driver licence checking now even easier1 December 2008DriveTech has become one of only a handful of fleet suppliers to be able to offer the new generation of driver licence checking service from the DVLA, known as ‘e-DECS’. Having made a considerable investment in new IT technology, the new service allows DriveTech to offer driver licence checking on a far more regular basis than before – daily if necessary. Subject to a signed driver data protection mandate being in place, DriveTech can submit an enquiry to the DVLA, using an electronic secure file transfer system, by 16.00 one day and will receive a licence status report by 12.00 the following day. The process is now much less onerous for the customer too. As data will be received on a more regular basis from DVLA from now on, DriveTech customers’ dedicated driving licence databases will be updated automatically. Further information about the new system can be obtained from DriveTech’s Corporate Risk team on drivinglicences@drivetech.co.uk Additional information about DriveTech’s wide-ranging work in driver education please refer to www.drivetech.co.uk For further information, members of the media should contact Editor's Notes DriveTech (UK) plc is one of the UK’s leading providers of road risk management, driver assessment and education.
