Nick Barley appointed new non-executive director at DriveTech (UK) plc

The board of DriveTech (UK) plc has now confirmed the appointment of Nick Barley as a non-executive director with special responsibility for strategic planning and innovation.

Nick is Vice President of Marketing, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for Computer Associates (CA), with responsibility for all direct and indirect marketing throughout the region. Prior to joining CA, Nick spent five years at Microsoft Ltd. as Chief Marketing Officer and seven years as Vice president, Oracle Corporation.

Commenting on his appointment, Nick said “I’m delighted that I can bring my experience to an up-and-coming company that is a true leading light in the area of driving risk management and education. I’m convinced we can build on this success, making DriveTech the pre-eminent driving force in this sector. The opportunities are vast and I see my role as both bringing new ideas to the table and also helping DriveTech fulfil its true potential”.

Prior to his senior positions at CA and Microsoft, Nick’s background covers sales, marketing and consulting roles, in both B2B and B2C market sectors. Nick has a Bachelor of Arts honours (BA Hons) degree in Economics, and a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Economic and Regional Planning from the University of Reading. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
