Drivetech takes home brace of awards, including wellbeing win.

Driver training and safety expert Drivetech, part of the AA, has taken home two prestigious national awards at the UKROEd Awards 2023.

Tim Innes, Drivetech’s regional manager, gained an ‘Innovation Award’ for the business in recognition of his work in creating a wellbeing champions support scheme to help trainers adapt to new working environments, including online working. A former senior police leader and representative of the South Yorkshire branch of superintendents, Innes used his experiences of witnessing the impact of poor mental health in the workplace to design the scheme.

First developed during the pandemic, the initiative has gone on to become an invaluable resource across the business in supporting both Drivetech’s contractors and employed members of staff. In a 2023 trainer survey, over 90% of respondents said they were satisfied with the support given to them by regional managers and Drivetech.

Meanwhile, Drivetech’s 27-strong Northern Ireland trainer team was awarded the ‘Outstanding Team Award’. Andy Robson, Regional Manager Northern Ireland, stepped up to receive the award which recognises both the team’s exceptional course delivery and active integration with a wide range of regional road safety initiatives, often within the trainers’ own time.

Commenting on the double win, Nick Butler, Director, Drivetech, said: “Congratulations to our Drivetech winners – we are very proud of them. Our achievements confirm our dedication to both improving road safety and supporting our trainers in these ever-evolving times.”

Held in Manchester on 11th October, the UKROEd Awards acknowledge significant contributions to road safety and innovation within the field.
