DriveTech is delighted to present Danny Toland with the Northern Ireland Road Safety Awards 'Driving Instructor of the Year'.
The Road Safe NI Awards event took place on Friday 23 November at the Cultra Manor in Belfast and DriveTech was proud to be attending to make the award for the Driving Instructor of the Year. The event coincided with Road Safety Week. Des Morrison and Andy Robson from DriveTech attended the celebratory lunch to recognise and award the winner of the Driving Instructor of the Year category.
The awards offer members of the public the opportunity to highlight the exceptional contributions from people and organisations in their efforts to make Northern Ireland's roads safer for everyone.
With over 9,737 road casualties last year, the importance of road safety is key, and helping to ensure new drivers understand that safe driving is a skill for life is vital.
Des Morrison, Director at DriveTech, commented: “The awards are an excellent way to recognise and reward individuals, communities and organisations who have made a significant road safety contribution during the previous 12 months. Our congratulations go to Danny Toland who is an exemplary instructor and should be rightly proud of this recognition".
Danny is from the North West and has taught a full generation of drivers over the last 30 years. He holds the highest possible grade as a driving instructor and is well known for taking on challenging pupils with learning difficulties or very anxious pupils. He also coached other Instructors on how to support pupils who are struggling to progress.
Danny has delivered training for organisations like Foster Care NI. When the core funded lessons are completed, he has taught pupils pro bono without their knowledge so they can get qualified. He will also go the extra mile for his pupils by providing theory test help at no extra cost. Danny is a great role model for all driving instructors.
